Nourish Your Liver Tonic

As we start to make the transition from Spring into Summer, this is one of my favorite liver tonics. I like to make an infusion, but you could also buy or make tinctures of the these herbs. This formula is bitter and carminative in nature, which means it is stimulating to the liver, gallbladder and digestive tracts.

Dandelion: anti-inflammatory, stimulates bile flow and production for digestion

Milk Thistle: liver protectant, cell regenerator, antioxidant, anti-fibrotic

Artichoke: protects liver tissue, digestive stimulant

Burdock Root: diuretic, anti-inflammatory, liver tonic, blood & iymph mover

Turmeric: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, liver protectant, digestive stimulant

Fennel: digestive support

Oregon Grape: bile stimulant, digestive support

Licorice: anti-spasmotic, liver protectant, moistening, used to treat hepatitis
